AWIS-PLG app for iPhone and iPad

AWIS Personalized Learning Gallery offers an easy way to manage any students personal learning. The app is an easy to use tool acting as an integrated or stand alone module of AWIS SSDAS Student Information System.

Teachers or school administrators use the app to create new student assessments of personalized learning and to see the gallery of all accomplishments for each student. For each student project they include a title and description and they can assign subjects/courses and competencies that are applicable for the specific project. Teachers or administrators may optionally include an image of the project as well as an image of the rubric/scoring guide. Teachers may also apply a score to the assessment in order to keep track of a students trend towards meeting or exceeding mastery of a competency for their current grade level. They may also provide communication to the parents with ways to support their learning or other feedback.

Parents can use the app to see their childrens projects. In the gallery the projects are sorted by date with the newest shown first, so they can instantly notice any new ones. They are able to view the communication from the teacher and to easily reply to the teacher in a blog-type dialogue.

Students can use the app to see their own projects and have the capability to easily reply to the teacher and to take part in the teacher/parent/student communication.

Please note that this app requires a valid user name and password. These are available to teachers, administrators, students and parents for those users or jurisdictions with a subscription to the AWIS Student, School and District Administration System (SSDAS).

The app can also be run in demo mode for all user groups. The demo mode is read-only and will provide the user with a glance of how the app works by showing faked students and assessments for the following user names (no password is required):

Key features

All assessments for each student are easily accessible through a Gallery with multiple filtering options.

The dialogue which is incorporated in the app supports interaction between the teacher, parents and the student and maintains the history within the SSDAS database. Each entry is color coded by user group to increase the readability.

Strict authorization process for user access.

Secure data transfer, obeying all privacy regulations. All data is stored in Canada and user authentication is required.
